THE FACT. Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said Tuesday that Terry McLaurin tore his patellar tendon in Monday night's loss to the 49ers and will miss the rest of the 2026 season. NBC Sports' Josh Alper reported McLaurin will have surgery to repair the knee, and NFL.com carried Quinn's confirmation the same day.

THE VERDICT. Drop him in redraft. A torn patellar tendon plus surgery ends 2026 and the rehab runs into next summer. Dynasty: hold rather than dump, since he is signed for two more seasons, but treat him as a buy-low only once the knee clears. The vacated snaps are the live fantasy question, and Treylon Burks is the name to watch after catching four of six targets for 66 yards in that same Monday loss, per NBC Sports. Burks also left that game late with an injury, so confirm his status before spending. Redraft: speculative 5% FAAB on Burks. DFS: fade the Washington receivers until Week 7 practice reports sort out the pecking order.
