Patrick Surtain II: Broncos not planning injured reserve move

THE FACT. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday that Denver does not expect to place Surtain on injured reserve and that the cornerback could be back after roughly three games with a pectoral strain, per NFL.com. CBS Sports reported the same Wednesday, adding that a Week 13 return at Washington is in play if his recovery stays on schedule.
THE VERDICT. IDP: hold him in any league that rewards cornerbacks, because avoiding injured reserve means Denver sees this as a short absence rather than a lost season. In shallow IDP formats you can drop him for a starting linebacker and plan to re-add. DFS: attack the Denver secondary while he is out, especially with opposing WR1s who were previously shadowed. Redraft and Dynasty: no action needed in standard offense-only leagues.
