Michael Wilson: limited again Thursday in non-contact jersey

THE FACT. Cardinals receiver Michael Wilson was limited for a second straight day Thursday with a ribs injury and wore a non-contact jersey as a precaution, according to Arizona's official Week 8 injury report. NBC Sports' Charean Williams also listed him as limited Thursday.

THE VERDICT. He is practicing, but a non-contact jersey two days running says Arizona is protecting him. Redraft: start him in deeper leagues only and expect him to pass on the contested catches over the middle that drive his floor. Rib injuries change how a receiver plays before they change whether he plays. DFS: fade at full price.

Twenty-odd years of these and I've learned the non-contact jersey is usually about Thursday, not Sunday. Wilson played 90 percent of the snaps in Week 7 and has drawn 15 targets in the two games since Harrison got moved. Arizona is throwing it 43.7 times a game over the last three. That's a WR2 role, not a deeper-league stash. Dallas has given up the 10th-most PPR points to receivers, and the last three WR1s they faced averaged 5.3 catches. I'm starting him in standard 12-teamers, and the ribs chatter is exactly why he's cheap in DFS, not why I'd fade him.
