Jevon Holland: downgraded to out with concussion vs. Texans

THE FACT. Giants safety Jevon Holland was ruled out of Sunday's game against the Texans after entering the weekend questionable with a concussion, per NBC Sports' Josh Alper, who wrote Saturday afternoon that the downgrade suggests Holland has not yet cleared the protocol. RotoWire reported the same downgrade Saturday and said Ar'Darius Washington will start at free safety in his place.
THE VERDICT. IDP: move Holland to your bench and start Washington where you need a plug-in safety, since a first-time starter at free safety generally sees close to full-time snaps. Redraft: the actionable read is on the other side of the ball. New York is also down cornerback Greg Newsome II and linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, both ruled out Friday per NFL.com and Alper, which leaves a visibly thinned secondary. DFS: bump the Houston pass catchers up a tier and fade the Giants defense.
