Jeremiyah Love: set to practice Wednesday with ankle injury

THE FACT. Arizona Cardinals coach Mike LaFleur said running back Jeremiyah Love is expected on the practice field Wednesday as he works back from an ankle injury, per Arizona Cardinals On SI's Donnie Druin, and NBC Sports' Week 8 injury report carried the same expectation Tuesday. LaFleur would not commit to a Week 8 role, saying the team will see how the week goes, and said injured reserve was never under consideration.
THE VERDICT. Redraft: hold him and treat Wednesday's first Week 8 injury report as the tell, not a lock to play. The third overall pick had been managing the ankle for weeks before Arizona shelved him, so expect a usage ramp rather than a full workload if he suits up. LaFleur said Bam Knight keeps a role, which caps Love's immediate ceiling. Dynasty: nothing here dents his long-term value, so do not sell into the noise. DFS: fade until a practice report confirms full participation.

Respectfully taking the other side of the DFS fade here. Dallas is 31st against the run, giving up right around 146 yards a game on the ground, and Love was already handling about 15.6 touches a game before the ankle shelved him. That is not a guy you ramp, that is the lead back. Everybody waiting on a full practice report is exactly why he sits at low ownership Sunday. I would rather be early on the No. 3 overall pick in that matchup than chase him the week after. Knight having a role does not scare me.
