Jeremiyah Love: officially ruled out for second straight game
THE FACT. Arizona ruled rookie running back Jeremiyah Love out for Sunday against the Broncos, his second straight absence with an ankle injury, per the Cardinals' official site on Friday. Head coach Mike LaFleur said Love is improving but is not yet at full strength. The team said Tyler Allgeier and Bam Knight will again split the backfield, with Evan Hull a likely practice-squad elevation Saturday.
THE VERDICT. Knight is the more interesting of the two. He turned 15 carries into 80 yards last week while Allgeier managed 38 yards on 18. Add Knight now at 8% FAAB in Redraft leagues that need running back help, and flex him in deeper formats. Allgeier remains the goal-line option, which makes him the safer touchdown bet and the weaker yardage bet. Dynasty managers should not move off Love over an October ankle. Knight is the better DFS value of the two.
Respectfully flipping this one. Knight's 80 yards on 15 looks great, but Allgeier played 56 percent of the snaps, took a team-high 18 carries and owns the goal line. That's the role. One week of yards per carry isn't. Denver is allowing 4.7 a carry and the sixth-most fantasy points to running backs, so the back with the snap lead and the touchdown equity is the one I want in lineups, not the one with the better highlight. Twenty-plus years of this has taught me to pay for touches over efficiency.
