Jer'Zhan Newton: limited Wednesday in return from IR

THE FACT. Commanders defensive tackle Jer'Zhan Newton was designated to return from injured reserve and practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, his first work inside the 21-day window, per NFL.com and CBS Sports. He has been sidelined by a pectoral injury.

THE VERDICT. He is trending toward a Week 8 return against Philadelphia, though one limited session is not a guarantee he suits up. IDP: add him now in deep leagues and hold through the week, because interior linemen who come back to full snaps carry both pressure and tackle value. Wait for an official Friday designation before you start him. Redraft: no action in standard formats.
