Jalen Brooks: season-ending wrist surgery for Cardinals receiver

THE FACT. Cardinals wide receiver Jalen Brooks said on social media Monday that he needs emergency wrist surgery and is done for the season, per Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk. NFL.com's Monday roundup carried the same news. Brooks had one catch for 35 yards in Sunday's game before the injury.

THE VERDICT. A one-catch afternoon tells you how small the direct fantasy hit is here. Redraft: drop him in any format where he was still rostered, and do not spend waiver money chasing the vacated role. Dynasty: this is a lost evaluation year for a young receiver who had not carved out steady volume, so hold only if your bench is deep enough to carry the lottery ticket. DFS: off the board. The practical effect is an open roster spot in Arizona.
