DeVonta Smith: misses Thursday practice as hamstring lingers

THE FACT. Smith was absent again from Thursday's practice, per the Philadelphia Inquirer and NBC Sports, with the hamstring that has already cost him three games this season. Philadelphia practices once more Friday before releasing its final injury report.

THE VERDICT. Redraft: a hamstring that has lingered this long does not clear on a Friday walkthrough. Treat him as out and start someone else against Washington on Sunday night. Dynasty: hold, this is a recurring soft-tissue problem rather than a role problem. DFS: fade, and pivot the savings to the Eagles pass-catchers who are actually practicing.

Not burying him yet, honestly. Smith has already pulled the Thursday-off, Friday-on-the-field routine once this season, and a Sunday night kickoff hands you an extra day of information before you're locked in. Hold the spot and make it a Friday call. The DFS line is where I really split off. If he clears, he's the cheapest he's been all year coming off three missed games, and almost nobody will roster him on a night slate. That's leverage, not a fade. And the pivot I'd want isn't a receiver anyway, it's Goedert, who saw nine targets in the game he played without Smith and was full Wednesday.
