Derwin James: ruled out Sunday against the Chiefs

THE FACT. The Chargers ruled James out for Sunday's game against the Chiefs with a hamstring injury, per NBC Sports' player news desk and NFL.com's Friday roundup. Neither source gave a return timeline.

THE VERDICT. IDP: James is a difference-maker when healthy, but he is out again with no date attached, so start a replacement safety and only hold him if you have an IR slot. In shallow IDP leagues he is a cut. Redraft: cornerback Donte Jackson is also ruled out, so the Los Angeles secondary is shorthanded and Kansas City's pass catchers get a modest bump. DFS: pay up for Chiefs receiving options.
