Derwin James: out at Kansas City with hamstring injury

THE FACT. The Chargers ruled out safety Derwin James with a hamstring injury for Sunday's game at Kansas City, per the team's own Week 6 injury report, and he landed on the Sunday inactive list published by NFL.com. Cornerback Donte Jackson is out with a hamstring injury as well.

THE VERDICT. IDP managers lose a top-end safety floor and should start a bench linebacker rather than chase a replacement in the Los Angeles secondary. Kansas City's pass catchers get a real lift with James and Jackson both sidelined, and that is the cleanest angle to attack the late slate in DFS. In Redraft, treat the Chargers defense as a downgrade this week. Dynasty managers should read nothing long-term into a soft-tissue absence.
