Derwin James Jr.: held out Wednesday with hamstring

THE FACT. Chargers safety Derwin James Jr. did not practice Wednesday because of a hamstring injury, according to the Chargers' own injury report and CBS Sports' Garrett Podell. Los Angeles plays the Rams on Sunday.

THE VERDICT. IDP: James is the most valuable defensive piece on this roster and a hamstring that costs him Wednesday is worth taking seriously. Hold him, but roster a startable alternative this week rather than waiting on Friday news. Redraft and DFS players have nothing to do here beyond noting that a Chargers secondary without James is softer to attack.
