David Montgomery: ruled out for Sunday with groin injury

THE FACT. Houston running back David Montgomery will not play Sunday against the Giants, NBC Sports reported Friday, citing NBC Houston's Aaron Wilson. Texans Wire had already reported Thursday that Montgomery was out with the groin injury that has sidelined him since he left the Week 5 win over Tennessee in the first quarter.

THE VERDICT. The Houston backfield belongs to Woody Marks, and offensive coordinator Nick Caley said Marks will get a good amount of carries. Redraft: start Marks with confidence and leave Montgomery on your bench. DFS: Marks is a sensible mid-priced tournament piece in a game Houston should control on the ground. Dynasty: nothing changes about Montgomery long term, but every missed week shrinks what a 2026 share is worth.
