Daron Payne: out for season with Jones fracture

THE FACT. Payne suffered a Jones fracture in his foot at practice Friday and is out for the rest of the season, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Saturday. Washington had not announced the injury. The defensive tackle was added to the injury report Friday and had been listed as questionable for Sunday night against the Eagles.
THE VERDICT. Washington's interior defense is gutted. Per CBS Sports, Tim Settle and Shy Tuttle are the only interior defensive linemen left on the active roster, with Javon Kinlaw also ruled out, which raises the floor for every Philadelphia runner Sunday night. IDP: drop Payne everywhere, he is not coming back this season, and both Settle and Tuttle become usable streams in leagues that force you to start a defensive tackle. Redraft managers streaming defenses should fade Washington the rest of the way against run-first offenses.

Payne being done is real, but I'd split off at "raises the floor for every Philadelphia runner." There basically aren't any. Bigsby, Shipley and Pierce are all on IR, so it's Barkley plus Jaydon Blue, a practice squad promotion, and Elijah Mitchell. That's a Barkley-only bump, not a room-wide one. And Washington is still allowing only 100.5 rushing yards a game, so a two-man interior doesn't make them an auto run funnel for me. Barkley carries no designation after a limited Friday. He's the play, nobody behind him is.
