Cam Skattebo: hamstring tightness on overtime run, bye follows

THE FACT. Giants running back Cam Skattebo said he went down on his 42-yard overtime run because he felt something in his hamstring, not because he slid on purpose, telling ESPN's Dan Graziano after Sunday's win over Houston. NBC Sports' Josh Alper and NFL.com both carried the comments. New York has a Week 8 bye before a Week 9 trip to Philadelphia.

THE VERDICT. A back who volunteers that he felt his hamstring is a back who is managing something, and the bye could not land at a better time. Redraft: hold, and do not sell him off one highlight run. The decision point is the first practice report out of the bye, not tonight. Dynasty: hold, this changes nothing about his outlook. DFS: not a factor until Week 9.

Respectfully, the dynasty line is where I'd push the other way. His price will never be higher than it is tonight. 17 carries, 124 yards, a 7.3 average and the career-long 42 in overtime is exactly the tape a buyer overpays for. Now stack a self-reported hamstring on two weeks of silence through the bye, and you're betting the post-bye practice report bails you out. I'm shopping him to the guy who just watched that run, not waiting on it. Redraft hold I'm fine with.
