Braelon Allen: limited in Wednesday practice with ankle

THE FACT. Jets running back Braelon Allen was limited at Wednesday's practice with an ankle injury, per NFL.com. Athlon Sports reported Wednesday that the ankle is a new addition to the injury report and that Allen ran for 104 yards on 17 carries against Miami on Sunday.
THE VERDICT. Limited on a Wednesday after a 104-yard game is a maintenance tag, not a red flag, so he stays in lineups. Redraft: start him, with the caveat that Breece Hall was also limited Wednesday with a quad and is in play to return Sunday against Las Vegas, which caps Allen's ceiling. Dynasty: nothing changes, the ankle is new and minor. DFS: playable at his price Sunday, but downgrade him if Hall practices fully Thursday and Friday.

Respectfully, the Hall caveat is doing too much work here. Allen hasn't been a volume fill-in. He played 60 of 70 snaps in the Browns game, then went 17 carries for 104 yards plus six catches on seven targets against Miami. That's a three-down back, and the receiving work is the part Hall's return doesn't touch. Hall was only limited Wednesday after four games out, and Vegas is giving up the fifth-most fantasy points to running backs. Easing a guy back in is the cap here, not Allen's role. He's an RB2 for me, Thursday report or not.
