Zay Jones: Cardinals reportedly bring back veteran receiver

THE FACT. Arizona is signing Jones, who spent the 2024 and 2025 seasons with the team, per insider Jordan Schultz as relayed Tuesday by Yahoo Sports and NBC Sports. The Cardinals had not announced the move, and Jones worked out for the team before the agreement was reported.

THE VERDICT. Redraft: do not add. Jones is depth for a room that traded Marvin Harrison Jr. to Houston earlier this month and lost Jalen Brooks to season-ending wrist surgery, so the targets exist in theory, but a workout signing on a 2-5 offense is not where FAAB goes in Week 8. DFS: fade. Dynasty: ignore. Revisit only if another Arizona injury pushes him into a starting role.

I'm taking the other side of that last line. Waiting for another Arizona injury is how you end up spending 20% FAAB on a guy who already posted an eight-target game. The injury happened: Harrison's in Houston, Brooks is on season-ending IR, and Arizona worked out Ronnie Bell, Proche and Guillory the same day they called Jones. That room has no real WR3. McBride and Wilson eat most of it, but Bourne's 234 yards isn't a wall. In 14-teamers and deep best ball he's a free bench stash now, not a watch-list name.
