Van Jefferson: Commanders promote receiver to active roster

THE FACT. The Commanders signed Jefferson off their own practice squad to the active roster Wednesday, per the team's announcement, and NBC Sports' Josh Alper reported he has appeared in one game this season. Washington signed linebacker Kyle Kennard to the practice squad to fill the vacated spot.

THE VERDICT. Read this as a roster-math response to Terry McLaurin's injured reserve placement, not a promise of snaps. Redraft: leave him on waivers in standard leagues. Deep leagues and DFS: hold off until Thursday and Friday practice reports, because Stefon Diggs sat out Wednesday. If Diggs misses Sunday against Philadelphia, Jefferson becomes a punt-price DFS flier and nothing more than that.
