Tank Dell: activated off PUP, will play vs. Giants

THE FACT. Houston activated wide receiver Tank Dell from the reserve/PUP list to the active roster on Saturday and he is set to play Sunday against the Giants, per NFL.com and NBC Sports' Charean Williams. NFL.com lists no injury designation for him. Dell dislocated his kneecap and tore multiple knee ligaments in December 2024 and has not played since.
THE VERDICT. Add now, 15% FAAB. A receiver this talented returning with no designation is worth a bench spot in every format, but do not start him this week, because nearly two years out means a managed snap count before a real role. Dynasty: buy, and buy before the first big line. DFS: fade now, revisit once Houston shows what his route share looks like.
Fifteen percent feels steep to me. Through six weeks Houston's targets ran through Dalton Schultz at eighteen percent and Xavier Hutchinson at almost seventeen, with Nico Collins back, Noel and Boutte around ten each, and Marvin Harrison Jr. just traded in and still ramping. That's six mouths before Dell takes a snap, and he hasn't played since December 2024 with a dislocated kneecap and multiple torn ligaments. I'd throw three or four percent at him as a lottery ticket and save the real budget for a back with a clear path. The talent was never the question, the room is.
