Sam Franklin: Bills safety suspended one game for spitting

THE FACT. The league suspended Buffalo defensive back Sam Franklin Jr. one game without pay for spitting at a Raiders player late in the Bills' Week 6 win, per NFL.com and USA TODAY's Chris Bumbaca on Wednesday. The ban starts Monday, Oct. 26, and he can rejoin the active roster Nov. 2, after Buffalo's Nov. 1 game against Baltimore. NFL.com reported he may appeal. He is the second Bills player disciplined this week for spitting at a Las Vegas player, following C.J. Gardner-Johnson.
THE VERDICT. The bye absorbs most of this. Buffalo is off in Week 7, so the suspension costs Franklin one real game, the Nov. 1 meeting with Baltimore. IDP: no action, he is not on radars in standard-depth leagues and a one-game ban does not change that. Redraft and DFS: no impact. The thing to track is the Bills secondary losing two bodies to the same infraction inside a week, which matters more for Buffalo's defensive rotation than for any fantasy roster.
