Rodney McGraw: Dolphins promote edge rusher to active roster

THE FACT. Miami promoted edge rusher Rodney McGraw from the practice squad to the 53-man roster on Tuesday, per ProFootballTalk's Myles Simmons, who reported the Dolphins announced the move themselves. NFL.com's Tuesday roundup carried the same promotion. Kicker Riley Patterson was released as the corresponding move, and Miami also waived edge rusher Andre Jones Jr. in the same batch.

THE VERDICT. This is a depth move, not a fantasy pivot. Redraft and DFS managers can ignore it outright. IDP: with Jones Jr. waived the same afternoon, McGraw is on an active roster for the first time this season and becomes a name to file away in deep leagues that start three or more defensive linemen. There is no snap projection to lean on yet, so do not spend a waiver claim. Check the Week 7 participation report before giving him any roster space.
