Riley Patterson: Dolphins release the kicker Tuesday

THE FACT. The Dolphins released kicker Riley Patterson on Tuesday, the team announced, as part of a five-move day that also promoted edge Rodney McGraw to the active roster and added kicker Zane Gonzalez to the practice squad. NBC Sports' Myles Simmons reported the same set of moves. Miami also worked out veteran Justin Tucker the same day.
THE VERDICT. Drop Patterson wherever he is rostered. Redraft: he had no streaming value on a winless offense and now has no job at all. Gonzalez is the kicker Miami brought in behind him, but he is on the practice squad, so confirm he is active before anyone treats him as a desperation streamer. Dynasty and DFS: ignore the entire Miami kicking situation. Survivor players should file away that the Dolphins have now churned kickers in the middle of the season, which is not the profile of a team you back in a close game.
