Marvin Mims Jr.: ruled out for Week 2 with foot injury

THE FACT. The Broncos ruled out wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. (foot) for Sunday's home opener against Jacksonville, according to the team's official injury report released Friday afternoon. Mims did not practice this week. Denver also cleared wide receiver Troy Franklin (knee) and outside linebacker Jonah Elliss (shoulder) to play.
THE VERDICT. Sit Mims, and do not hold him in shallow redraft leagues while a foot injury runs its course. Troy Franklin is the direct beneficiary of the vacated snaps and the more interesting play of the two this week. DFS: Mims comes off every board and Franklin becomes a viable value piece at home. Mims keeps standalone worth only in leagues that score return yardage, which is a deep-format consideration and nothing more.
