Justin Tucker: works out for Dolphins, Miami signs Gonzalez

THE FACT. Free agent kicker Justin Tucker worked out for the Dolphins on Tuesday, per NBC Sports, and ClutchPoints' Douglas Fritz reported the same tryout off a report from Jordan Schultz. Miami did not sign him: the team announced Tuesday that it added kicker Zane Gonzalez to the practice squad and released Riley Patterson. Tucker has not kicked in a regular-season game since 2024.
THE VERDICT. A tryout is not a contract, so there is nothing to do in any format. Redraft: leave Tucker on the wire until a team actually signs him. Dynasty: a 2024-vintage kicker with no job carries no value. DFS: not an option. The one thing worth tracking is the market around him, because the Rams put Blake Grupe on injured reserve and worked out two veteran kickers this week, per Sean McVay and NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. If a kicking job opens on a scoring offense, revisit then.
