Josh Downs: requests trade out of Indianapolis before deadline

THE FACT. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported Wednesday that Colts receiver Josh Downs has asked Indianapolis to trade him, and Downs did not push back on the report when asked about it, per NFL.com. The request landed a day after the Colts shipped Quenton Nelson to Seattle and DeForest Buckner to San Francisco, and Downs is playing out an expiring rookie contract.
THE VERDICT. Downs has 26 catches on 46 targets for 307 yards and no touchdowns through seven games, which is replacement-level production in a sinking offense. Redraft: hold him, but do not spend to acquire him until the destination is known. Dynasty: buy the dip now, because a 25-year-old slot receiver on an expiring deal is cheapest during a fire sale and gets more valuable the moment he lands somewhere with real quarterback play. DFS: fade him in Indianapolis lineups.
