THE FACT. Colts coach Shane Steichen said Wednesday that running back Jonathan Taylor has not asked to be traded, per Yahoo Sports' Chris Cwik and NBC Sports' player news. The clarification landed a day after Indianapolis, under interim general manager Ed Dodds, sent guard Quenton Nelson to Seattle and DeForest Buckner to San Francisco for mid- and late-round picks, per NFL.com.

THE VERDICT. No request does not mean no trade, and a front office already shipping out veterans can still move its best remaining asset before the deadline. Redraft: start him as normal this week and do not sell into a panic offer from a rival manager. Dynasty: hold, because landing on a contender would raise his value rather than lower it. Roster a contingency back now so a deadline deal does not leave you scrambling on a Tuesday waiver run.
