Jonathan Greenard: feels close, Eagles noncommittal for Sunday (pec)

THE FACT. Eagles edge rusher Jonathan Greenard, who missed the entire summer with a pectoral injury, has been a limited participant on the first two practice reports of the week and told reporters Friday morning that he feels solid and is close to returning, per Pro Football Talk's Josh Alper (Sept. 11, 9:28 a.m. ET). The Eagles have not committed to him for Sunday against the Commanders and are treating it day by day ahead of Friday's injury designations.
THE VERDICT. Even if Greenard is active, expect a snap count in his first live action since last season, so the production ceiling is capped. IDP: sit him in Week 1 and keep him rostered as a strong stash; a healthy Greenard is a weekly DL2 with sack upside once the leash comes off. DFS: fade until he clears a full workload. Check the Friday designation before locking any lineup.
