Jets, Eagles: swap Michael Carter II for John Metchie III

THE FACT. New York is sending cornerback Michael Carter II and a 2027 seventh-round pick to Philadelphia for wide receiver John Metchie III and a 2027 sixth-round pick, reported Wednesday by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, per NFL.com. The Eagles announced the trade on their team site Wednesday, pending a physical.

THE VERDICT. Redraft: leave both players on waivers. Metchie joins a Jets receiver room that already has established targets ahead of him, and Carter is a slot defender rather than a fantasy asset. IDP: Carter has standing in deep tackle-heavy leagues now that he moves into a contending defense, but he is a bench stash at best. Dynasty: Metchie is a free dart throw in deep 30-plus-round leagues if you need receiver bodies. DFS: no play here.
