Jeffery Simmons: Bears cap his workload Monday night

THE FACT. Bears coach Ben Johnson said Simmons will play a lot Monday night against Seattle but probably will not match the snap count he carried in Tennessee, per NBC Sports' Michael David Smith on Sunday. Chicago acquired the defensive tackle from the Titans last week in a package reported by NFL.com and Bleacher Report to include two first-round picks.

THE VERDICT. A debut snap cap is standard and it does not change the profile. IDP: start him as a DL1 in leagues that reward interior pressure, because Johnson is talking about a soft landing, not a rotation. Dynasty: this is a value bump, since Simmons moves from a rebuilding defense to one playing for seeding. DFS: he is a fine piece in Monday showdowns if you need a defensive tackle with real sack equity.
