Evan Hull: signed to Arizona's active roster (Love out)

THE FACT. The Cardinals signed running back Evan Hull from the practice squad to the active roster on Saturday, per NFL.com's Saturday roster roundup, ahead of Sunday's game against Denver. RotoWire reported the move fills the No. 3 running back role left open while Jeremiyah Love is sidelined by an ankle injury, and ArizonaSports.com's Dylan Kane wrote that Hull took the contract spot freed up by the release of safety Wydett Williams Jr.
THE VERDICT. Depth move, not a lineup move. Redraft: leave Hull on the wire, because RotoWire expects Tyler Allgeier and Bam Knight to absorb nearly all of the Arizona backfield work with Love out. Dynasty: no action. DFS: fade. The usable takeaway is the confirmation that Arizona is going into Sunday with Allgeier and Knight carrying the load, so Love's absence does not hand anyone a new workhorse role. If you stashed Hull as a contingency, hold him only in deep benches.

Depth move, sure, but I'd flip the "nobody gets a workhorse" part. Bam Knight went 15 for 80 against the Rams while Allgeier needed 18 carries to get 38, and Arizona hit a season-high 120 on the ground doing it. Coaches ride the hot hand when a game stays close, and Denver is giving up 139.8 rushing yards a game, second-most in the league. I'm not leaving that on the wire. Knight is a real flex for me Sunday, and Hull getting signed to the active roster instead of elevated is a tell worth a bench spot in deeper formats.
