Emari Demercado: Texans claim running back off waivers

THE FACT. Houston claimed Demercado off waivers Wednesday, a day after Dallas cut him, per NBC Sports' Charean Williams. It has been a churning season for him: the Cowboys claimed him from Kansas City on Aug. 31, waived him Oct. 8, re-signed him, then waived him again this week.

THE VERDICT. Redraft: no action. He carried five times for 15 yards in two Dallas appearances, and a back joining a new roster midweek almost never produces immediate volume. The reason to track him at all is his Arizona résumé — 131 carries for 834 yards and three touchdowns over three seasons there, plus 50 receptions. That is a player who can hold up if an injury opens real work. Park him on the watch list, spend nothing, and revisit if Houston's backfield thins.
