Emari Demercado: Cowboys waive the running back a second time

THE FACT. Dallas waived Demercado on Tuesday, the team announced, per NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk. It is the second time this season the Cowboys have cut him, after an early-October release, and he finished with five carries for 15 yards across two appearances. Dallas also cut tight end D.J. Rogers from injured reserve.
THE VERDICT. Redraft: he was not rosterable in Dallas and this does not change that. Waiver Wire: no claim. The useful read is the signal, not the player; the Cowboys are comfortable enough with the backs ahead of him to clear the spot twice in three weeks. The one thing worth watching is a claim from a team with a thin backfield, which would make him a deep-league bye-week body at best.
