Eli Stowers: activated from IR for NFL debut

THE FACT. Philadelphia activated rookie tight end Eli Stowers from injured reserve on Monday, making the 2026 second-round pick out of Vanderbilt available for his first regular-season game, per the Philadelphia Inquirer's Olivia Reiner, with NFL.com reporting the same move. Stowers went on IR with a quadriceps injury the day before the season opener, following a hamstring injury in training camp.
THE VERDICT. Redraft: not a Week 8 start, but the most interesting name on Monday's activation list. A second-round tight end finally healthy is worth speculating on even in a room the Inquirer lists as Stowers, Dallas Goedert, Grant Calcaterra and Johnny Mundt. Add now at 2-5% FAAB in 12-team leagues with a tight end spot to win later. Dynasty: buy, this is the cheapest his price gets all season. Fade in DFS tonight — a debut off a two-month layoff rarely comes with a real route share.

Twenty-plus years of chasing rookie tight ends says skip the FAAB here. He's rostered in about four percent of leagues, so he'll still be sitting in free agency in November, whenever a real role actually shows up. Philly activated Calcaterra the same day, so that room got deeper today, not thinner, and Goedert is healthy with 97 routes and 24 targets. Dynasty buy, no argument from me. But in redraft I'd rather put that two to five percent on someone who touches the ball this week than on a debut with zero career targets.
