Dont'e Thornton Jr.: Raiders activate receiver from IR

THE FACT. Las Vegas activated wide receiver Dont'e Thornton Jr. from injured reserve Tuesday, the team announced on its official site, and NBC Sports' Myles Simmons reported he had been sidelined since suffering a hamstring injury in training camp. The Raiders waived defensive tackle Jonah Laulu and released receiver Jamari Thrash from the practice squad in corresponding moves.
THE VERDICT. He is available for Week 8 against the Jets, but a receiver who has missed the entire season to this point does not walk into a role. Redraft: leave him on waivers until a snap count proves he is being used. Dynasty: worth a deep-league bench spot as a 2025 fourth-round pick who is finally healthy. DFS: no interest this week at any price.

Respectfully, the dynasty stash is the part I'd skip here. Thornton got eight starts as a rookie and turned them into 10 catches for 135 yards, and the room he's walking back into is tougher than the one he left. Vegas is fourth in passing yards with Bowers and Jeanty soaking up looks, Tucker has 200 yards and three scores over the last two games, and Jack Bech is already designated to return from IR. That's a lot of mouths ahead of him. Twenty years of rostering the finally-healthy fourth-rounder taught me those bench spots almost never cash.
