C.J. Gardner-Johnson: suspension upheld, will miss Week 8 vs. Ravens

THE FACT. The Bills defensive back lost his appeal of a one-game suspension for spitting, with hearing officer Jordy Nelson upholding the ban, according to ProFootballTalk's Myles Simmons and a separate Thursday report from The Sporting News' Matt Sullivan. Buffalo is on bye in Week 7, so the game he sits out is Week 8 against the Ravens.
THE VERDICT. IDP: bench him for Week 8 and stream a replacement safety for that week, but hold him in season-long leagues because this is one missed game, not a change in his role. Buffalo also lost Sam Franklin to a one-game ban for the same offense in the same Week 6 win over the Raiders, per NFL.com, so the back end will be shorthanded against Baltimore. Redraft: no impact on offensive rosters. DFS: a thinner Bills secondary nudges up Ravens pass-catchers in Week 8 pricing.
