Alijah Vera-Tucker: Patriots place guard on injured reserve

THE FACT. New England placed left guard Alijah Vera-Tucker on injured reserve Thursday with a hamstring injury, per NFL.com's Thursday transaction roundup and NBC Sports' Rivers McCown. The Patriots confirmed the move on their own site the same day they ruled him out for Thursday night's game at Chicago.

THE VERDICT. Redraft: no direct roster move, but this is a real hit to New England's interior blocking for at least four games. Treat it as an efficiency tax on the Patriots backfield rather than a change in who gets the carries, since the snap split does not move. DFS: fade New England rushing props in the short term and wait to see who settles in at left guard before paying up. Dynasty: no change to any skill player's value.
