Zaire Franklin: shin keeps Packers linebacker out Thursday

THE FACT. Green Bay linebacker Zaire Franklin was inactive for Thursday night's game against Carolina with a shin injury, per the Packers' official inactives post and NBC Sports' Charean Williams. He had been ruled out earlier in the week and did not practice at all, according to NFL.com's Week 8 injury report.

THE VERDICT. IDP: sit him. The shin cost him every practice this week and then the game, so there is no partial-game outcome to hope for. The upside is the schedule: a Thursday game hands him roughly ten days before Week 9, which makes him a hold rather than a drop in tackle-heavy leagues. Stream a linebacker to cover the slot tonight. Do not buy Green Bay linebacker snaps in DFS when the inactives list does not say who absorbs them.
