THE FACT. Falcons edge rusher Za'Darius Smith did not practice Thursday because of a shoulder injury, and right tackle Jawaan Taylor was also held out with a knee issue, per Pro Football Talk's Josh Alper. Both sat while Atlanta's Week 1 report grew to include quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who was limited with an oblique injury ahead of Sunday's game against the Steelers.

THE VERDICT. IDP: Smith is a sit in Week 1 lineups until he practices; a DNP two days before the game usually ends in a doubtful or out tag. Kendal Daniels and Brandon Dorlus stayed limited, so the Falcons pass rush could be thin.
