Tua Tagovailoa: back flares up in Thursday practice, Steelers loom

THE FACT. Tagovailoa went to the ground with lower-back discomfort during individual throwing drills at Thursday's Falcons practice, according to beat reporters Josh Kendall and Daniel Flick via Steelers Depot on Thursday afternoon. He missed part of camp with back spasms, and Atlanta opens Sunday, Sept. 13 against Pittsburgh with Cooper Rush as the backup.

THE VERDICT. Redraft: treat Tua as a hold until Friday's designation and keep a streamer on the bench if he is your QB1. Drake London and Bijan Robinson stay in lineups either way; Rush is a competent game manager, not a total downgrade. DFS: fade the Falcons passing game in cash until the status clears. Dynasty: no move, but this is the third back flare-up of the year and the risk is priced in.
