Jordan Mason: Vikings evaluating thumb injury after opener

THE FACT. Vikings running back Jordan Mason is being evaluated for a thumb injury, head coach Kevin O'Connell said on Monday, Sept. 14, per NFL.com. Minnesota did not attach a timeline or a practice designation to the evaluation.
THE VERDICT. Redraft: hold, and check Wednesday's practice report before you set your lineup. A thumb is the rare injury that can let a back practice and still cost him the job, because ball security is what decides a Minnesota backfield split. Aaron Jones Sr. is the direct beneficiary and should already be rostered in your league. Waiver Wire: if Jones is somehow free, he is the top add this week at 15% FAAB.
