THE FACT. Dobbins left Sunday's game against Jacksonville with a hamstring injury and did not play in the fourth quarter after 10 carries for 36 yards, according to Heavy. Sean Payton said afterward that Dobbins was frustrated, called it a minor hamstring issue and said the team would see where it stands. With RJ Harvey already inactive with his own hamstring injury, rookie Jonah Coleman took the late work and scored on a 3-yard run.
THE VERDICT. Redraft: add Jonah Coleman now, 15% FAAB. If both Dobbins and Harvey miss Week 3, he is Denver's lead back and a flex play. Hold Dobbins; Payton's tone was mild, but hamstrings linger, so watch Wednesday's practice report. Dynasty: Coleman is a buy while his price is still low.
Twenty-plus years in and the rookie who punches in a late touchdown is still the add that burns the most FAAB. Coleman looked sharp, and Payton said that drive didn't feel like a rookie series, but back in Week 1 he played 3 snaps and got zero carries behind Dobbins and Harvey. If Harvey's hamstring clears this week, Coleman is third string again against the Rams. I'd put 5 to 8 percent on him as a stash, not 15, and only spend real money if both backs are sitting out practice late in the week. Holding Dobbins either way.
