Brock Bowers: out Week 1 after Tuesday meniscus trim

THE FACT. Bowers had a meniscus trim on his knee in Dallas on Tuesday and is expected to miss a game or two, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Wednesday, Sept. 9, per NFL.com. The injury dates to training camp but was not diagnosed until last week, and it rules him out of Sunday's opener against Miami.
THE VERDICT. Redraft: sit him Sunday and stream a tight end for one to two weeks, but do not entertain sell-low offers because the timeline is short. Dynasty: buy if any manager panics; a meniscus trim is a minor procedure and he is still the top asset at the position. DFS: remove him from Raiders-Dolphins builds and expect Kirk Cousins to lean on Jakobi Meyers and Ashton Jeanty in the short passing game. Waiver Wire: streamers with a Week 1 matchup edge are worth a small FAAB bid, no more than 5 percent.
