Carolina's Friday injury report showed Brooks as a full participant with no game status for Sunday's opener against Chicago, per the team's official site, after he was limited earlier in the week. Bobby Brown III (back) was also full, while outside linebacker Patrick Jones II was ruled out.

THE VERDICT. Redraft: Brooks is startable as a flex, but temper the ceiling in his first game back from a long layoff; a timeshare is the base case. Start him in deeper leagues, sit him in 10-team formats if you have a locked-in RB2. Dynasty: this is the clearance dynasty managers waited on, hold. DFS: he is a cheap tournament dart, not a cash play, until we see his snap share. IDP: Jones out thins the Panthers' edge rotation, nothing to add.
