THE FACT. Rookie receiver De'Zhaun Stribling had surgery on his left ankle and is expected to miss close to 10 weeks, coach Kyle Shanahan said Wednesday, per NBC Sports Bay Area's Matt Maiocco. Stribling was hurt in San Francisco's Week 1 opener and goes on injured reserve, with the team still hoping he returns later this season.

THE VERDICT. Drop him in redraft. Ten weeks swallows most of the fantasy season and there is no bench slot worth burning on that. The vacated snaps consolidate a receiver room that already runs through Brandon Aiyuk, Ricky Pearsall, Mike Evans and Christian Kirk, so this is a modest target bump for whoever is healthiest rather than a waiver add of its own. Dynasty: hold, an ankle at this age is not a long-term red flag and the return window is still this season. DFS: fade the cheap 49ers pass-catchers, the volume goes to the established names.
