Daniel Jones: Steichen confirms him as the Colts starter

THE FACT. Colts head coach Shane Steichen said Monday that Daniel Jones remains his starting quarterback ahead of the Week 8 trip to Jacksonville, adding that Jones knows he has to play better, per NBC Sports' Myles Simmons. Steichen said he has not considered a quarterback change and still has faith in Jones, according to ClutchPoints' Ben Strauss.
THE VERDICT. The job is safe this week, which is what matters for everyone downstream of it. Redraft: Jones is a low-end QB2 at best, so start him only in deep two-quarterback formats, and keep starting the Indianapolis pass catchers on volume rather than on his efficiency. Dynasty: no reason to buy, because a public vote of confidence after a bad game is week-to-week language and not a commitment. DFS: fade Jones in cash games and treat the Colts passing attack as tournament-only until the production turns.

Different read on this one. Jacksonville is 31st in passing yards allowed at 8.0 a throw and has given up 15 completions of 25-plus yards, tied for second most in the league, while generating just 11 sacks. Jones has been sacked 19 times in seven games, so the one thing that wrecks him is the one thing this front has not done. That is not a deep-superflex-only profile to me, it is a real one-QB streamer. Their seven picks are live risk, but I am playing the Colts pass game in cash.
