Carson Schwesinger: Browns linebacker sits out Wednesday (ankle)

THE FACT. Browns linebacker Carson Schwesinger did not practice Wednesday with an ankle injury, per NFL.com and NBC Sports. The ankle dates to Cleveland's loss to the Jets, after which NBC Sports' Josh Alper reported Schwesinger left that game and was listed as day to day.
THE VERDICT. A full absence on Wednesday, more than a week into the injury, is the sign this is not clearing quickly. IDP: do not start him until he practices. Get a replacement linebacker on your roster now, because a Wednesday DNP this deep into an ankle problem usually turns into a doubtful or out tag on Friday. Redraft: irrelevant. In tackle-heavy IDP formats the Cleveland linebacker who inherits his snaps becomes a speculative add once the team names one, so wait for Thursday's report before spending FAAB.
