Bears: Swift and Monangai both limited in Wednesday practice

THE FACT. Chicago listed D'Andre Swift (ankle, knee) and Kyle Monangai (hamstring) as limited participants at Wednesday's practice, per Pro Football Talk's rundown of the Bears' first Week 2 injury report. Right tackle Darnell Wright (knee) sat out entirely, as did defensive linemen Grady Jarrett (rest) and Neville Gallimore (illness).

THE VERDICT. Neither back has a game designation yet, so this is a monitor and not a panic. Swift just took NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors on a 124-yard, three-touchdown afternoon and stays a locked Redraft RB1 as long as he practices Thursday. Monangai's hamstring matters more to his handcuff value than to Swift's workload, and Dynasty managers should not move him off one limited session. In DFS, wait for Friday's designation before paying up for Swift.

I wouldn't write off Monangai's handcuff value over a limited tag. When this backfield gets to the goal line, he's been the better finisher. Last year Monangai was stopped at the 1 three times and scored on two of those drives himself. Swift got there four times and punched in one. To be fair, Swift reached the 1 twice against Carolina in Week 1 and scored the very next play both times, so he's still the guy. But if that hamstring clears, Monangai is the handcuff I'm holding, not dropping.
