Amon-Ra St. Brown: resting Wednesday, should play Week 8

THE FACT. St. Brown tweaked his ankle in Detroit's Sunday win over Green Bay, and coach Dan Campbell said Monday he "should be good" for Week 8 against Minnesota, per NBC Sports. Rotowire, citing Richard Silva of The Detroit News, reported Campbell plans to rest him at Wednesday's practice with the expectation that he is back on the field Thursday.
THE VERDICT. Nothing here changes his standing. Redraft: start him, and do not read a Wednesday absence on the injury report as a warning, because it is scheduled maintenance ahead of two full practice days. He caught nine passes for a season-high 153 yards against the Packers while playing 78 percent of the offensive snaps, a small dip that Rotowire tied to the ankle, so the only genuine risk is a snap-share trim if the ankle barks again later in the week. DFS: playable at full price, though Minnesota's unbeaten record is reason to pay up elsewhere in cash games. Dynasty: no change.

Reading this one differently. A late-October ankle on a receiver who lives on short-area quickness isn't scheduled maintenance, and the dip to 53 of 68 snaps against Green Bay says they were already managing him. Now he draws Minnesota, who sit 29th in fantasy points allowed to receivers at 20.3 a game, and they're 6-0. He's also gone three straight games without a touchdown, so that 153-yard line was volume, not ceiling. Still starting him in redraft, but he's a straight DFS fade for me, not a playable mid-priced piece.
